Dear friends,
Today is Earth Day. A moment to look down at our soil-stained hands and realize - we’re already doing the work.
In our kitchen gardens, every seed tucked into the soil is a vote for a different kind of future. One rooted in care. One that slows down just enough to notice the bees. One that chooses tomatoes from the backyard over tomatoes in plastic.
This season, we invite you to join us in three small but meaningful ways:
🌿 Grow something native. It supports your local ecosystem and invites pollinators home. Unsure what is native in your region? Check out this resource from the National Wildlife Federation.
🥕 Share a harvest. With a neighbor, a school, a community fridge. Giving food is giving dignity.
🌎 Compost something. Even one banana peel is a start. The earth always finds a way to turn scraps into gold. (Don’t have a place to compost? Check your local sanitation department - they can likely point you in the right direction.)
At American Kitchen Gardens, we believe gardening isn’t just a hobby - it’s how we reclaim a more beautiful way of life, one plot at a time.
Happy Earth Day.
Charlie
