Dear friends,
I sit here listening to the spring rain reflecting on this season so far. It’s been a season of quiet building - roots deepening, leaves unfurling. American Kitchen Gardens is slowly growing day by day.
🌱 What's Sprouting at AKG
This month, we’re starting to see the first fruits of all that winter planning:
Our new seasonal logo system is in progress - reflecting the rhythm of the garden. Keep an eye out for these quiet variations on seed packets (coming soon!) and across our content.
The online shop is coming together. Product photos are underway, seeds being packaged, and candles are curing. While minimal at first, our shop will feature a collection of essentials for our community to get their own kitchen gardens up and running. (Thank you Gordon for sacrificing part of your weekend)
Content & Community - This aspect of our journey is by far the most labor intensive and intricate. How we can differentiate ourselves, while remaining true to who we believe our brand will be? In a saturated market, simply releasing “how-to” garden content won’t be enough for our brand to shine.
We’re preparing for our first local market pop-ups with free seed packets, garden advice, and more ways to connect offline.
🌼 A Garden Is More Than Plants
We’re not just selling seeds or raised beds - we’re telling stories, teaching, experimenting. From a community garden at the local YMCA to a raised bed concierge for your backyard, AKG is rooted in the belief that food, beauty, and nature belong in every home.
And we’re just getting started.

Susan Halsey sent me this incredibly tasty looking arugula and chive egg scramble dish she made with her spring harvest. Keep these ideas coming!
With gratitude,
